Oaks Split Duals Against Chadron St and Simon Fraser

BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA – The Menlo Women's Wrestling program headed just north of the border to take part in a tri-dual against Chadron St and Simon Fraser. The Oaks would fall to Simon Fraser but came out with a dominant victory over the Eagles.
 
Menlo v.  Chadron St
The Oaks started their day against the Eagles falling behind by dropping the first three matches of the dual, but senior Haley Narahara would go on to ignite a run that would lead to the dual victory. Narahara would go on to tech her opponent in 0:47 to earn the Oaks first four team points. Louisa Schwab continued the momentum at 131 and deliver a decisive fall at 2:59, extending Menlo's surge.
 
At 138 Maci Stemmons picked up the win by injury default followed by another dominant showing from Vania Victoria at 145 with a 10-0 technical fall. The Oaks kept pressure on at 160 as Alexandra Lopez needed only :30 seconds to record a 10-0 tech, while Kalila Shrive sealed a key victory with a fall at 180lbs.
 
Menlo v. Simon Fraser
The Oaks opened the match with points by earning a forfeit victory to give the Oaks an early 5-0 lead. The Oaks would end up dropping a close decision at 110 and a fall at 117. The Oaks answered back at 124 with Louisa Schwab picking up a fall at to cut the deficit and providing Menlo with its lone bonus-point win of the dual.
 
Simon Fraser controlled the middle and upper weights, picking up wins the rest of the dual to conclude the dual with a forfeit win at 207, sealing the final margin and ending the Oaks chance of having an undefeated dual meet season.
