SOUTH JORDAN, UT – Menlo Women's Golf held its position over the final day of the Westminster Wasatch Invitational with freshmen
Ester Otiepkova and
Kim Penzold both placing in the upper tier out at Glenmoor Golf Course on Tuesday.

Among the top five golfers in the 66-competitor field heading into the second day of action, Otiepkova found herself five strokes back of par heading into the back nine where she proceeded to stay even through eight straight holes, ending with a 6-over-par 78 for a combined 7-over-par 151 in eighth overall. Otiepkova's four birdies (fifth-most in the tournament) were followed closely by Penzold's two birdies and one eagle, the last of which came on her fifth-to-last hole, giving her a 2-over-par 74 on the day and 9-over-par 153 in the competition for 11th place.
Both freshman
Laura Goertzen and junior
Julia Torrez ended with identical second-round scores, putting them in ties for 48th (25-over-par 169) and 53rd (26-over-par 170).

Menlo now shifts focus to its first home tournament of the year, the RCA Electric Invitational, which the Oaks will host from Quail Lodge Golf Resort in Carmel on Sept. 29-30.
