SACRAMENTO, CA – Menlo Men's and Women's Tennis enjoyed victories up and down its new roster during the two squads' first showcase in the Jessup Warriors Invitational at the American River College Tennis Courts on Friday and Saturday.
In action in both doubles and singles throughout the two-day tournament, the Oaks contested pairings with host Jessup as well as Fresno City College and American River College.
"The purpose of this tournament was for the coaching staff to get a chance to watch all of our players compete and, with a lot of new additions on both teams, we were excited to see them in a competitive scenario," said Director of Tennis
Ben Cabell. "Everyone who competed picked up at least one win and, after the weekend, we're most happy that both teams have a lot of depth."

First successes at the collegiate level were delivered by freshman Tijil Forger, freshman

Lachlan Ming. On Saturday, Forger picked up a victory against Jessup in two closely-contested sets.

Women Start Strong
There were inaugural collegiate victories on the women's side as well with freshmen
Bianca Tatu and
Gloria Jovic both triumphing for the first time. Jovic highlighted Friday with a strong three-set win over a tough Jessup opponent.

Menlo will finish out the month of September with ITA West Regionals hosted by Biola in La Mirada this Thursday through Saturday (Sept. 25-27).
