Wildcat Classic Results (Rounds 1 & 2)
MARYSVILLE, CA – In action for the first time this season, Menlo Men's Golf completed the first two rounds of Chico State's Wildcat Classic in 13th overall out at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club on Monday. Sophomore
Emmett Shell turned in the lowest single round of his collegiate career to start the day, ending tied for 43rd overall.
Multiple Oaks Improve Round To Round
Highlighting the first round of the season, Shell was locked in out of the gate, delivering birdies on two of his first three holes and five total through the first 18 en route to his 3-under par 69 which marked a two-stroke improvement on his career best. He wrapped up the day with a 4-over-par 76 to sit with a 1-over-par 145.
Four birdies in round two provided graduate student
Jack Stark the opportunity to join his teammate, sophomore
Ryan Bello, in a tie for 59th overall as each swapped 1-over-par 73 and 2-over-par 74 scores while junior
Cole Kroeker's first two rounds as an Oak, which featured the team's first eagle, had him 75th overall at 7-over-par 151.
Finishing Strong
Back on the links at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, Menlo returns to Peach Tree Golf & Country Club for the third and final round of the Wildcat Classic.
