ASUNCION, Paraguay –
Continuing an exciting summer leading into her freshman year at Menlo College, Jade Morales powered her way to a silver medal in Weightlifting at the 53kg level during the Asuncion 2025 Junior Pan-American Games.

Morales, the 2025 USA Weightlifting Junior National Champion, demonstrated her strength early, lifting 72kg then 75kg in her first two snatches to join a separation of the field as only four competitors finished with marks above 74kg. From third in that phase, Morales elevated in the clean and jerk where she opened with a 95kg completion then solidified her 98kg weight to cap off the day with an exclamation mark. That effort in the clean and jerk rose the Team USA representative into second overall with a 173 final score in front of Paraguay's Violeta Fernandez Martino.

"The resilience Jade showed throughout the competition was impressive," said Head Coach Kevin Doherty. "She showed true grit as she made her last lift for the silver. I am so proud of how she represented her country, school and self."

With momentum aplenty, Morales now centers her attention on the start of her collegiate career and the upcoming Menlo Weightlifting schedule.
