SAN JOSE, CA – Two of the newest members of the Menlo College Weightlifting team made strong impressions in their collegiate debuts on Sunday, competing at the Standard Strength Money in the Bank competition. Jeshua Ambrosio and Orion Rios both took the platform with confidence, representing the Oaks with grit, poise, and big lifts.

Jeshua Ambrosio - 242kg total

Ambrosio, who officially transferred to join the program this summer, went 1-for-3 in the snatch while securing a competition personal record with a lift of 105kg, besting his previous best by 2kg. He then went 2-for-3 in the clean and jerk, starting with a strong 133kg before landing a final lift of 137kg. His efforts earned him a total competition PR of 242kg, adding 5kg to his previous best. The South San Francisco native just recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Skyline College and is eagerly awaiting to begin his journey at Menlo College.

Orion Rios - 199kg total

Bay Area Weightlifting local and first-time Oak competitor, Orion Rios, also had an impressive debut at Standard Strength Money in the Bank. He went 2-for-3 in the snatch, finishing with 90kg, and followed it up with 2-for-3 in the clean and jerk, successfully lifting 109kg. Rios wrapped up the day with a 199kg total, setting a strong foundation for the season ahead.
