ATHERTON, CA – Menlo College is proud to announce the appointment of Megan Massa as Assistant Softball Coach under newly named Head Coach McKinsey Thorpe. Massa joined the Menlo softball program in July 2025, bringing a wealth of experience as a decorated former NCAA Division II athlete and an emerging leader in collegiate coaching.

A California native, Massa was a standout outfielder at Concordia University Irvine, earning four First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors, as well as Conference Player of the Year recognition in 2022. Throughout her collegiate career, she played a pivotal role in leading the Eagles to five conference championships and three tournament titles, with her teams achieving the No. 1 national ranking twice. Massa remains among CUI's all-time leaders in multiple offensive and defensive statistical categories.

Following her playing career, Massa transitioned into coaching as a graduate assistant at Concordia University Irvine. In this role, she specialized in working with hitters and outfielders, leading film analysis and scouting efforts through Dartfish software, and contributed extensively to recruiting and team culture development. Her detailed scouting reports and analytical approach have been instrumental in preparing competitive teams.

"Megan brings both a championship mindset and a tireless work ethic to our staff," said Head Coach McKinsey Thorpe. "She understands what it takes to succeed at this level and is fully committed to developing our student-athletes on the field and as people. She's a rising star in this profession and I'm thrilled to have her alongside me."

Massa holds a Master's Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Psychology, along with minors in Sociology and Coaching, all from Concordia University Irvine.

Menlo College looks forward to the positive impact Massa will have on the Oaks as the program continues its growth within the competitive PacWest Conference.
