Menlo Women's Basketball Receives WBCA Academic Special Mention

2024-25 WBCA Academic Team Awards

ATLANTA -- Menlo College Women's Basketball epitomized what it means to be student-athletes as a Tuesday announcement by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association saw the Oaks awarded Academic Team Special Mention for their collective academic success this past year.

"I'm very proud of our team's dedication and commitment to achieving academic excellence and it's great to see them recognized for all their hard work," said Head Coach Shannon Spataro.

By The Numbers
The WBCA's announcement of its Academic Top 25 recognized NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point averages inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. All teams that qualified with the minimum 3.0 GPA were also recognized for their academic accomplishments. There were a total of 75 DII teams honored by the WBCA.

All-Around Achievements
Recording a fourth consecutive season with at least 16 wins, Menlo Women's Basketball spent the 2024-25 campaign collectively posting a 3.55 GPA as a team with 18 different members contributing to the mark. The Oaks maintained their high standard with 12 Pacific West Conference victories in their first year as new members, delivering a nine-game win streak across January and February which included season sweeps of two conference opponents.
