CHARLOTTE, NC – Incoming freshman Kylie Lewis recently showcased her skills on the international stage at the 2025 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Challenge in Charlotte, a prestigious event featuring elite athletes from around the globe.
Competing in the 67kg weight class, Lewis faced a formidable first-round opponent in Mari Romundset Nilsen, a bronze medalist in the women's welterweight division at the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships. Despite a strong and composed performance, Lewis fell in a tightly contested 0-2 PTF (Points to Final) bout, concluding her tournament run.
The experience marks a significant milestone for Lewis as she continues her journey in competitive taekwondo and prepares to begin her collegiate career.
