ATHERTON, CA – The Menlo Men's Tennis team hosted a non-conference matchup against the Elks of Stanton University on the Cartan Tennis Courts. The Oaks would topple the Elks 6-1, taking the doubles point and earning five singles victories for a solid team win.

Tootoonchi and Roldan Masterclass
The day started off in doubles play, with the dynamic duo of Angle Roldan and Erkin Tootoonchi Moghadam showcasing their chemisty in the no. 3 spot with a 6-0 sweep to win the first match of the day. In the no.2 doubles spot, Robin McAlpine and Tanguy Calicis would go on to win their dual against Stanton's Phil Schoellhorn and Elias Klitzsch with a 6-2 win to secure the Oak's first point of the day.

Brito and Roldan Shine in Singles
Singles play saw the Oak's showcase the depth in their lineup. Duarte Brito would go on to get the ball rolling for Menlo at the no. 5 singles spot with the most dominant win of the day 6-3, 6-0. Robinson Pellault would earn the third point for the Oak's with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over the Elk's Cornelis Schneider. Spain native Angel Roldan would secure the Oak's victory at the no. 4 spot for the Oak's with a gritty win over Paulo Reis 6-2, 6-3. Tanguy Calicis would start his singles bout off with a first set battle, earning a gritty 7-5 first set win. Calicis would end up sweeping the second set 6-0 over Phil Schoellhorn to secure the win at the no. 3 spot. Asger Emil Ildor would be the final Oak to secure a point at the no. 2 spot, defeating Elias Klitzsch 6-1, 6-4 to end the day. Stanton would go on to earn their lone point against Menlo at the no. 1 spot in a gritty 7-5, 7-6(3) bout.
