LOS ANGELES, CA & ATHERTON, CA – The Menlo College Women's Tennis program had a weekend and a half by earning two crucial victories over the Golden Eagles of Cal State LA, and avenging a loss from earlier in the season against the Warriors of Stanislaus State. The Oaks would end up sweeping Cal State LA 4-0 and earning a clutch 4-2 victory over Stanislaus State, not only showcasing their depth and talent, but also their resilience and competitive fire.

Menlo v. Cal State LA. 4-0
The Oaks started their weekend with a masterclass of a performance against the Golden Eagles. Starting with doubles play, the Golden Eagles would give away a forfeit at the #3 spot giving the Oaks a chance to take the first point of the day by only winning one more double match. Menlo took advantage of the chance with Anthea Weiland and Milana Hrudka beating their opponents 6-1 give the Oaks a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

In singles play it was smooth sailing for Menlo as the Golden Eagles would give up another point to the Oaks by forfeiting the #6 spot. Lea Mocher would end up winning her match in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 at the #5 spot to help the Oaks go up 3-0. Freshman Yousra Hidass would go on to secure the final point for the Oaks by earning a 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Returning back home, the Oaks were fired up to come up against Stanislaus State—a team that bested the Oaks earlier in the season. The day didn't start out in Menlo's favor, as the Oaks dropped the doubles point and quickly found themselves in a 0-2 hole after Stanislaus picked up a quick win at the #6 singles spot.

The Oaks responded back with determination and poise. Milana Hruka sparked up the momentum and ended up beating her opponent in two sets 6-0, 6-3 to earn Menlo's first point of the day. Anthea Weiland followed with a clinical performance at the #2 spot, defeating Emma Yu 6-2, 6-2 to even out the team score 2-2. At the top spot, Livia Harper came through a clutch three set battle, bouncing back from a second-set dip to win 6-0, 2-6, 6-0 and gave the Oaks their first lead of the day. Yousra Hidass once again delivered under pressure, grinding out a 6-4, 6-2 victory to seal the win and complete the comeback.
