Menlo Men's Tennis Falls to MSU Denver and Hawaii at Hilo Over the Weekend

| Box Score 2 FRESNO, CA – The Menlo College Men's Tennis team engaged in tight contests against the University of Hawaii at Hilo Vulcans and the Roadrunners of Metropolitan State University of Dever, inside of the Haak Tennis Complex for neutral sight matchups. The Oaks put forth a strong effort despite falling to the Roadrunners 1-4 and the Vulcans in a 3-4 shootout.

Menlo v MSU Denver, 1-4
The Oaks would be able to obtain the first point of the day in doubles play. Asger Emil and Ian Ramiro Perez would earn an incredible (8)7-6 victory to help Menlo try and secure the doubles point. Tanguy Calicis and Robin Mcalpine were in #2 spot and dominated their opponents 6-2 to secure the first point of the day for the Oaks.

It was a different story in singles play, with the Roadrunners taking 4 straight singles bouts to earn the victory over Menlo. Mcalpine and Ildor would be the two Oaks that had heated battles at the #1 & #2 spots, with both athletes going three sets against their opponents.
 

Menlo v Hilo, 3-4
The Oaks were able to come out strong in the doubles to secure the first point of the day. Robin Mcalpine and Tanguy Calicis were able to defeat their opponents in a 6-3 victory at the #2 spot. The Vulcans took the #1 spot match by a score of 3-6 but the duo Erkin Tootoonchi Moghaddam and Angel Roldan secured a 7-5 gritty victory to assist in obtaining the first point of the day.

The Oaks were able to keep things going with Asger Emil defeating his opponent is straight sets 6-4, 7-5 at the #2 spot to obtain another point. The Vulcans took a point at the #1 spot, but Tanguy Calicis had the most dominant win of the day, earning a 6-2, 6-1 victory for another point. Despite the valiant effort in the other singles matches, Hilo would secure 3 other matches to edge the Oaks out in team point 3-4.
