Duarte Brito Earns Clutch Victory to Help Oaks Beat Westmont 4-3

ATHERTON, CA – The Menlo College Men's Tennis program showcased its skill and determination in a hard-fought match against Westmont College. The Oaks were able to earn impressive singles victories that allowed Menlo to take the win 4-3.

MATCH RECAP
In doubles play, the Oaks were only able to take one match out of three, with Tanguy Calicis and Angel Roldan setting the tone of the day. The pair were able to pick up a gritty 6-4 win, heading into the singles with Westmont up by a point.
In singles play, the Oaks were able to carry the doubles play momentum over. Already down a point, the Oaks needed to secure four singles bouts to be able to take the team victory over Westmont. Tanguy Calicis started singles play in dominant fashion by defeating his opponent 6-3, 6-2 to earn the first point for the Oaks. Angel Rodlan added another point and displayed consistency and control, winnin in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Henry Riccioni-Brown was able to pick up another point for the Oaks with the team score now becoming 3 all. Duarte Brito was the final Oak to come off of the court. Battling through a three-set thriller, Brito earned crucial points to help the Oaks claim the 4-3 victory over Westmont.
