ATHERTON, CA – This past weekend the Menlo College Women's Tennis program faced Biola University and American River College. The Oaks split the weekend 1-1, falling to Biola 0-7 and beating American River 6-1.  

MENLO vs. BIOLA (1-6)
The Oaks were seen battling in doubles action, but were unable to claim the crucial opening point. The Oaks dropped the first double 1-6 and the third double 3-6. The closest battle came at the no. 2 spot with Anthea Weiland and Milana Hrudka ending their doubles play 5-5 against their opponents.

In singles play, the Oaks' lone victor of the day came from senior Lea Mocher. Mocher's experience was on full display as she was able to secure a dominant 6-3, and 6-0 victory to give the Oaks' their only point of the day.
 
MENLO vs. AMERICAN RIVER (6-1)
Menlo was able to deliver to perform an impressive performance, controlling both doubles and singles play, showcasing their depth and determination on the court. Coming out strong in doubles play. Livia Harper and Andrea Vlasceanu battled to a thrilling 7-6(7) victory at the no 1 spot. Anthea Wieland and Milana Hrudka continued that momentum and cruised to a 6-1 victory. Yousra Hidass and Lea Mocher closed out the doubles with a 6-3 victory of their own to assist in earning the first point of the day. In singles, the Oaks maintained their dominance by winning 5 out of the 6 singles matches.

Anthea Weiland secured a commanding 6-2, 6-0 victory at the no.2 spot. Milana Hrudka was another Oak that earned a point for the Oaks by overcoming her opponent 6-4, 6-0. Andrea Vlasceanu continued the momentum with a victory of her own 6-0 and 6-3. Yousra Hidass was able to shutout her opponent 6-0 in both sets to help in sealing the victory for the Oaks. Carlotta Stern was able to close out the day with a victory of her own 7-6(8) and 6-4.
