Menlo NON-NCAA Wrestling Dominates Sac State 45-11 in Final Dual of the Season

The Menlo Men's Non-NCAA Wrestling team came out on top in their final matches of the season in a dual against Sacramento State on Friday. The Oaks were able to showcase their strength across all weight classes, earning two pins, a major, four forfeits, and one technical fall, to earn the 45-11 victory in front of a roaring home crowd.

Dual Recap
The Oaks started off with a minor setback at 125 pounds, giving up a tech fall to start the match 0-5 in team points. However, Julian Sanchez was able to ignite the Oaks fire with a pin in just under forty seconds to take the lead 6-5. Giancarlo Plaza was able to earn a dominant win at 141 pounds with a 12-2 major decision victory to assist with the Oaks momentum. Kenneth Egan was the pick at 149 pounds and earned an outstanding 21-4 technical fall over his opponent to make the team score 15-5. Sac State would end up earning a pin at 157 pounds to give the Hornets their final win of the dual with the team score now becoming 15-11 in favor of the Oaks.

The final match of the night came from Avian Singh who was able to earn a pin just before the first period ended to hand the Oaks another 6 points to the team total. Menlo would end up earning forfeits in the final four weights of the dual, earning the victory over the Hornets 45-11.
