Oaks Fall to Southern Oregon to Close Out the Season

Ashland, OR – The Menlo Women's Wrestling program headed up north to take on a familiar NAIA rival in Southern Oregon but fell 14-32 in a competitive dual.
 
Match Results
The Oaks were able to start the dual off strong with senior Angelique Cervantes delivering a commanding 11-0 technical fall in under two minutes to give the Oaks a boost in energy. However the Oaks were giving up four forfeits at 110 124, 180, and 207. Heading into 117 pounds, the Oaks were unable to secure the win off of a pin by SOU and a tech fall at 131. Janie Houser was able to secure a tech fall at 138 pounds giving the Oaks 8 team points. The Oaks however would drop another match at 145 in a tight 4-6 decision. Mikayla Lancaster would able to showcase her strength at 160 by earning a pin to close the team score gap 14-22. However, the Oaks gave up forfeits in the last two weights of the dual, with the final score being 14-32.
