2/11/2025 6:28:00 PM

Riverside, CA - The Menlo Women's Golf team capped off the first tournament of the championship season finishing in third place overall out of eight total teams.  The Oaks left it all out there on the course today after going 27 over as a team in the final round.

Sakshi Mehta and Holly Obermuller Pave the Way
Sophomore Sakshi Mehta and Senior Holly Obermuller had a great two days of tournament play at the West Coast Classic.  Mehta, shooting a 76 on the day, had a pair of birdies on her scorecard that supported her in finishing the final round at four over par.  Mehta capped off the tournament finishing in sixth place overall in the field at eleven over par.

Obermuller, who is no rookie when it comes to tournament play for the Oaks, shot a team low for the tournament with a 74 on the day.  Obermuller was dialed on the putting green all day as putts were dropping from all over the green.  Combined with some great drives off the tee box, Obermuller was able to finish off her round at just two over par.  Overall, Obermuller finished in ninth place in the field at 13 over par.

Mike Givens, Director of Golf said, "The ladies battled hard; it was back and forth the entire round and I am proud of how we never gave up.  They competed well and that's all I could ask of them.  We will continue to get better everyday and I am excited to see what the future holds."
