Caleb O'Hara Leads the Oaks to a Dominant 47-4 Victory Over Fresno State

Atherton, CA - This past weekend, Menlo Wrestling (NCWA) delivered a commanding performance against Fresno State, securing a dominant 47-4 victory in their non-NCAA matchup. From start to finish, the Oaks showcased their technical prowess, relentless pace, and ability to secure bonus points across each weight class.

Lightweight Shutout
The dual started at 125 pounds, where Caleb O'Hara set the tone with a 16-1 technical fall over his opponent which gave Menlo an early 5-0 lead to kick off the night. Dominick Clark followed suit at 133 pounds, securing another tech fall 17-2 to extend the advantage to 10 to nothing. At 141 pounds, Giancarlo Plaza added to the momentum as Fresno State forfeited the match, increasing Menlo's lead to 16-0. Jimmy Romero continued the dominant streak at 149 pounds, and executed an 11-1 major decision to keep the Oaks win streak alive after bumping up from 125 pounds.

Second Half Dominance
The middleweight bouts were no different, as Michael Ramos took the spot at 157 pounds and edged out a hard-fought 13-7 decision victory, keeping Menlo's shutout intact. Avian Singh electrified the crowd at 165 pounds with a dominant first-period pin, pushing the Oaks ahead 29-0. Fresno State suffered another forfeit at 174 pounds, giving the Oak a free 6 team points and gave Menlo a 35-0 lead. Orion Jenkins Schell kept the pressure on, securing yet another first-period fall against to keep increasing the team score 41-0. The Oaks received a forfeit at 197 pounds, stretching Menlo's advantage to an overwhelming 47-0. Fresno State managed to avoid the shutout at 285 pounds after edging out a 16-8 major decision to make the final score of 47-4 in favor of the Oaks.
