ATHERTON, CA - Senior Kanaipono Tapia has been named this week's MPSF Wrestler of the week after a standout performance at the Roadrunner Open and placing fifth in the tournament. 

Tapia opened his weekend with commanding wins, including an 11-2 major decision over CSU Bakersfield's Evan Manzo and a dominant 15-0 tech fall over Cal Poly Humboldt's Travion Jones. Despite falling in the next round, Tapia responded on the backside of the bracket, earning back-to-back major decision wins against opponents from CSU Bakersfield and Air Force, placing himself top 5 in the bracket.
