ATHERTON, CA – Senior Isaiah Morales has been named the MPSF Wrestler of the Week by sparking the comeback in Menlo's 24-19 comeback victory against Western Colorado.

In their first dual of the season against Western Colorado, the Oaks found themselves in an early hole. After dropping several of the opening matches, the team trailed 3-19 at the midpoint of the meet and needed a dramatic momentum shift. That spark came from Morales who stepped in at 174lbs for Menlo.

Wasting no time, Morales opened the bout with a quick takedown that set the tone for the rest of the dual. He followed it up with a 4-point nearfall and was looking to add bonus points with a pin. As the first-period clock would wind down, Morales capitalized and secured a pin just before the buzzer to earn 6 team points and shifted the momentum in Menlo's favor, with the Oaks closing out the dual 24-19.
