Electric Ending
Menlo opened the scoring midway through the first half in a perfectly executed team sequence. Johan Mendoza Aguilar combined with Roy Rosenberg who drove down the left flank and delivered a sharp cross into the box where Jose "Chicha" Garcia was waiting unmarked in the 6-yard box, slotting home a one-touch finish to the far post in the 25th minute for a 1-0 Oaks advantage. Biola responded early in the second half, equalizing in the 61st minute to level the match at 1-1. The Oaks weathered waves of Biola pressure, leaning on goalkeeper Martin Fiala, who produced four meaningful saves, none bigger than his denial in the 53rd minute that kept the Eagles from seizing momentum. Menlo's defense remained organized as Biola earned six corners, but the Oaks' back line stood firm.
The decisive moment came in the 87th minute. After building through midfield, Parker Faeth delivered a perfectly paced pass to Janne Spangenberg who was at the top of the box. With composure and flair, Spangenberg took a sneaky touch around the Eagle's diving defender and unleashed a master-class finish past the Biola goalkeeper to lift the Oaks to a stunning 2-1 victory. Menlo's bench erupted as the team clinched a vital road win, keeping their playoff push alive in the PacWest race.
