ATHERTON, CA – The Menlo Women's Volleyball offense was downright scary on Friday as an early Halloween costumed crowd inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion watched the Oaks post their best kill total (69) of the season on their hitting percentage (.273) in a huge 3-1 (19-25, 25-17, 29-27, 26-24) Pacific West Conference victory.

Trio Of Oaks Hitters Combine For 56 Kills To Guide Victory
Despite leading 7-2 from the outset, the Oaks saw Biola battle back to make the opening set 18-18 before the Eagles closed strong with seven of the last eight points for the 25-19 win. Like the first frame, Menlo was again in front 15-8 as freshman middle blocker/opposite
Sophia Kelso and junior outside hitter
Fuka Kikuchi each were responsible for multiple kills during a 7-1 surge. As the teams soon found themselves trading points thereafter, the margin held and senior middle blocker
Janet Moala provided the exclamation mark with a kill for the match-evening 25-17 score.
The Oaks trailed BU 10-7 to begin the third set, but quickly authored a momentum shift as another 7-1 burst was capped by back-to-back kills from sophomore outside hitter/opposite
Avery Krebill put her team in front 18-13. Biola answered with a run of their own to force set point at 24-21 yet four consecutive points (two Kikuchi kills) turned the situation on its head, giving the home team their own 25-24 set point. Ultimately, after more close calls for both sides, Krebill and freshman outside hitter
Dayjah McFadden put away consecutive kills for the 29-27 triumph.
Following multi-point advantages for both sides in a crucial fourth frame, a 21-21 deadlock again saw the Eagles nearly force a fifth set up 24-22, but McFadden became truly unstoppable in the clutch, downing three straight kills to deny BU's comeback and dramatically finish off the 26-24 final for the win.
