Atherton, CA-It is a great day for Menlo Baseball as the Oaks pitching ace during the 2023 season, Brock Moore, heard his name called during the Major League Baseball Draft!

During his final season with the Oaks the pitcher was dominant on the mound. In six starts and across 30 innings pitched Moore put the GSAC on notice. The right handed pitcher posted 49 strikeouts to go along with 2.10 ERA. Despite facing 121 batters in his final season at Cartan he would only allow 17 hits and seven earned runs. Moore would spend much of the season garnering attention for professional scouts as representatives from multiple teams made the trip to Atherton to see the Carmel, Indiana native take the mound.

After an impressive 2023 season with the Oaks, Moore would receive an offer to finish out his career as a member of the powerhouse, Pac-12 program, the Oregon Ducks. Oregon was a force in college baseball having ranked as high as 13th in the USA Today Coaches Poll and 12th in the NCAA Division I Top 25. With the Ducks, Moore managed a 4-1 record as well as a save. In 31 innings of action Moore would strike out 52 batters while giving up only 28 hits. In fact, batters struggled to make contact against the 6'6 pitcher as Moore held opposing batters to a .241 batting average. Moore's crowning moment on the mound came when he struck out an Oregon record eight consecutive batters in a come-from-behind non-conference win over Oregon State who ranked among the top programs in the nation.

For all his work as both an Oak and a Duck, Moore had his name called during the seventh round of the MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners. Moore would be the first Duck to hear his name called and join one of the rising teams in the Majors.
