Atherton, CA- Menlo Cross Country and head coach Kevin Handshoe have been busy on the recruiting trail since he took over the program earlier this year. Handshoe now welcomes his first new addition to the women's program with Lucy Osztfalk joining the Oaks!
Osztfalk is a native of Germany but spent her freshman year competing at Notre Dame College of Ohio. While there she found herself competing in a variety of distances including the 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters and the 10,000 meters.
In the 5k she would post a season best 21:06.05 where she would take sixth at the Tiffelberg Open. Osztfalk would also run a season best 44:41.00 in the 10k at the Westminster Invitational 2024 which would be good for a third place finish amongst the women's field. Lastly, she posted a 12:38.17 season best mark in the 3k at the Mid-February Meet. Osztfalk will bring a nice level of experience to Menlo's women's program who will look to regroup and reload under Handshoes guidance!
