Men’s Tennis Picks Up 6th Straight Win Thanks to 7-0 Sweep of OUAZ

4/6/2024 9:41:00 PM

Atherton, CA-After a convincing sweep over Arizona Christian yesterday, Men's Tennis completed their domination of the GSAC's Arizona programs with another 7-0 victory over the Spirit of OUAZ! This marks the sixth straight win for the men and seven victories out of their last eight contests!

Two Doubles Wins to Start the Day

It was apparent that Menlo had their eyes set on another victory with the dynamic underclassmen pairing of Robin Mcalpine and Ruben Russwurm continuing their hot stretch of play. The duo won their set by a final score of 6-1. The Oaks' other combination of Saar Rogovski and Tanguy Calicis made even quicker work of their opponents. They would go on to shutout OUAZ winning 6-0 and not giving any wiggle room for their opponent to get back into the game.

Oaks Control Singles From Start to Finish

Once the singles matches got underway Menlo's control only became more apparent. Six Oaks players would go on to win their individual matches. Only one set would be remotely close with Asger Ildor winning his first round of play 6-4 before dismantling his opponent in the second set 6-0. When it was all said and done not only did every Menlo player win their matches but as a team they outscored the Spirit 72-15. To win their sixth straight match the Oaks submitted arguably the most dominant showing of the year!

Up Next…

The Oaks will now head up north for a showdown with Jessup University who are the Oaks regional rival. For most of their conference play they have separated themselves from their opponents with multiple sweeps. Look to Menlo to continue their run of strong play up in Rocklin!
