Atherton, CA-Last year the Oaks season came to an end against Arizona Christian in the GSAC Playoffs. With the two programs going head to head in the 2024 season, Menlo made sure to exact some revenge in the form of a 4-0 sweep on their home court!
Doubles Victory
Robin Mcalpine, Saar Rogovski, Ruben Russwurm and Tanguy Calicis would handle business in the doubles play combining to outscore the Firestorm 12-5 in the two decisive matches that secured the Oaks a critical point towards the overall team score.
Singles Domination
Once the players broke off into their singles matches Menlo took their play to another level thanks to the play of a trio of underclassmen. Russwurm kickstarted the Oaks as he has much of this season behind a dominant two sets of tennis. He outscored his opponent 12-1 in the two sets played. Fellow sophomore Asger Ildor also picked up a win, albeit in three sets. He would win the first, drop the second and then close out his opponent with a 6-0 victory in the deciding, third set. Lastly, Mcalpine has put together a strong freshman campaign and continued that trend with another singles victory today. The freshman from England won once again with 6-3 and 6-4 scores respectively.
