Surprise, AZ-Menlo Women's Tennis capped off a strong season by getting back to the GSAC Finals for the second year in a row. In just the program's second year the team has continued to find success including two playoff wins that got the Oaks to the championship match. Unfortunately, the Oaks would fall to the highly ranked Warriors in the final match of the GSAC Tournament.
Menlo struggled to really get going as they weren't able to find any success in the doubles portion of the match. Usually Menlo is able to secure a few key victories early but would be forced to look to singles to get going. Yet, Menlo would be shutout in singles play as well. While they competed Westcliff seemed to be firing on all cylinders which made the usually stout Warriors elevate their play in the form of one of their best outings of the year.
While the season did not end the way fans of Menlo would have hoped, the women of Menlo Tennis should still hold their heads high. The team reached the GSAC Championship for a second year in a row, they had two players named to the All-Conference team, the Freshman of the Year and most impressively, the Conference Player of the Year. The future is very bright for Oaks Tennis with their newly renovated courts and a strong roster look to the team to continue their upward trajectory into the future!
