3/15/2024 10:35:00 PM

Atherton,CA-For the third time in as many matches Menlo Men's Tennis earned a win this time beating St.Katherine with a 4-0 sweep. The team has now found its stride and will be carrying this momentum into GSAC play.

No Contest in the Doubles

It was apparent that St.Katherine's would be in for a long day once the doubles play got underway. Not only did Menlo win all three sets but they did so in dominating fashion. Saar Rogovski and Tanguy Calicis got things started with a quick 6-1 victory. The underclassmen duo of Robin Mcalpine and Ruben Russwurm followed up with a 6-2 victory as they continue to showcase their ability despite being two of the younger players on the team. Lastly, David Mulas Zelenskaya and Asger Ildor also won in convincing fashion 6-2.

Singles Wrapped Up Quickly

After a dominant showing in the doubles the boys kept it going as singles play rolled around. Russwurm led the way winning both sets 6-1. Only a sophomore, Russwurm has been a force for the Oaks over two years. Alongside, Russwurm and his doubles partner Mcalpine would win 6-2 and 6-3 making the young Oaks the stars of both doubles and singles play. Lastly, Rogovski had another solid day on the court winning his set 6-2 and 6-3 respectively.

Up Next…

GSAC play will be in full swing for the Oaks with a string of familiar foes making the trip to Cartan. Look to the Oaks to rise up the conference standings with the likes of ACU, OUAZ, Jessup and more on deck!
