Atherton,CA-It was a familiar matchup at the Cartan? Tennis Courts with the Oaks old GSAC rival, the Westmont Warriors, made the trip to Atherton. Despite Westmont now residing in the NCAA II Menlo defended their home court in convincing fashion with a 5-1 victory.
Domination in the Doubles
The day would start off with Menlo sweeping the three doubles matches of the day. The pair of Valentina Urelli Rinaldi and Andrea Vlasceanu kicked things off with a 6-1 victory that showcased why these two are currently the Oaks top doubles pairing. Franziska Niederle and Angelika Sidorov were also able to come away with a win thanks to a final score of 6-3. These two would not play during the singles portion of the day but still contributed to the Oaks win. Lastly, Milana Hrudka and freshman Livia Harper would go down to the wire winning their match 7-6 thanks to an overtime victory.Â
Singles Recap
Once singles play got underway Menlo took their momentum from the doubles and carried it through the rest of the match. Urelli Rinaldi and Vlasceanu continued their dominant day as they would both sweep their matches in a quick two sets. At this point the Oaks would be up 3 total points to zero. To round out the Oaks final two points of the day Hrudka won her match thanks to winning set one by a score of 6-3 and the second set 6-4. For the final point of the match freshman Jennifer Pfaefflin put together the team's most dominant individual showing winning 6-1 and 6-2.

Menlo will continue with a long homestand that has their next five matches slated to be at home. The Oaks will next take on NCAA Division II Stanislaus State on March 21st with GSAC play to resume shortly after.Â
