Men's Wrestling Shows Valiant Effort at the Roadrunner Open as Max Zamora and Jeramiah Steele Place

Bakersfield, CA – Menlo Men's Wrestling competed at the prestigious Roadrunner Open, facing strong competition from programs across the country. Maximus Zamora and Jeramiah Steele were the standout Oaks that contributed to Menlo's success at the tournament.
 

Top Performers
Maximus Zamora is on a roll this season as he continues to demonstrate resilience throughout the season. Zamora began with a decision victory over Cal Poly and rebounded from a quarterfinal loss to pin three consecutive opponents in the consolation bracket. His road to third place included a thrilling decision victory over San Francisco State University in the consolation semifinals and a decisive 8-2 win over Oklahoma Wrestling in his third-place bout. Jeramiah Steele was the other Oak to show out. Steel's path included three pins on the backside of the bracket as well as a major decision victory. Steele however showed a valiant effort trying to achieve 5th place.
 

Notable Efforts
Ledger Petracek was able to earn two pins in his bracket before being edged out in the third round of consolations. Diego Morales added to the team's performance with a strong win by decision against Vanguard in the second round of consolations. The Oaks will now shift their focus as they will have a short break before heading into their next event of the season.
 

Up Next…
