Menlo Women’s Golf Battles Hard in Final Round of Vanguard Invitational

Beaumont, CA - The Menlo Women's Golf team faced tough competition at the Vanguard Invitational held at Oak Valley Golf Club, finishing in fifth place out of six teams. The event showcased the team's resilience and individual talent as they navigated the challenging course.
 

Fanning, Obermuller 1-2 Punch

Highlighting the tournament for the Oaks was freshman Rori Fanning, who earned a remarkable second place finish, completing the tournament with a score of three over par. Fanning's consistent performance throughout the rounds displayed her skill and determination.  She tallied two birdies on her scorecard today and had 14 total pars for the round.

Senior Holly Obermuller also had a commendable performance, securing sixth place with a score of ten over par. Obermuller's steady play contributed significantly to the team's overall efforts.  She also had two total birdies on her scorecard and had some really impressive approach shots which impacted her score significantly.
 

Team Determination

Senior Arianna Chan, who finished with a score of 27 over par, had a great final round with a final score of a 79.  Putting was on fire for Chan as she climbed up the leaderboard into 24th.  Sakshi Mehta battled hard to the very end and finished at 32 over par and Kayla Lancaster at 35 over par.  Each player demonstrated the spirit and dedication that defines the Menlo Women's Golf program.  Golf Director Mike Givens after the tournament said, "We started out good, but we have a lot that we can improve upon.  We also need to be more consistent with our scoring."

Menlo Women's Golf will have a bit of a break until the spring season kicks off with the PCH Invitational at the Quail Golf Club on February 23-25.
