Women’s Tennis Defeats College of Idaho with Second 7-0 Sweep in a Row

Atherton, CA- With classes resuming and Spring Break behind us Menlo Women's Tennis picked up right where they left off. The Oaks were coming off a 7-0 sweep of Chaminade University and carried that momentum with them into their match against the visiting College of Idaho Coyotes. Menlo was once again dominant, sweeping College of Idaho across the singles and doubles portions of the contest.

Quick Work in the Doubles
Right away it was apparent that the Oaks were locked in. Across three doubles matches Menlo outscored 19-7. The duo of Lea Mocher and Andrea Vlasceanu didn't allow the Coyotes to score a single point, winning 6-0. Franziska Niederle and Angelika Sidorvo also came up with a decisive victory as they won by a score of 6-2.

Singles Sweep
The doubles were just a preview of the singles matches with all six Oaks coming away with victories. Franziska Niederle and Milana Hrudka didn't give their opponents a chance as across two sets they defeated their opponents by scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Mocher was also in top form winning by scores of 6-0 and 6-2. Valentina Urelli Rinaldi met some resistance in her first set, winning 7-6. Urelli Rinaldi rebounded nicely, dominating the second set 6-2.

Up Next…
Women's tennis has been on roll winning six of their last seven matches; four of them being 7-0 sweeps. The Oaks will take a few days off before matching up against American River College who will be coming to town this Friday at 1:30 PM. The team is rounding into shape nicely with playoffs right around the corner.
