ATHERTON, CA – Men's Wrestling had a successful Senior Night Dual against Division II rivals San Francisco Gators, 31-7. 12 seniors were honored tonight for their success at Menlo College at the beginning of the dual. It was a team effort tonight for the victory! 

 

Freshman With The Fall 

Isaiah Morales went up against Gavin Funk at 184. It took just one move to spin Funk to the ground for the pin at 1 minute and 7 seconds into the first period. Isaiah earned the lone pin of the night. This victory puts him at 16-8 overall on the season. As a freshman Morales has made his mark as an Oak now ranked at #1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and climbing the national ranks coming in at #8 in NAIA at 184. Tonight only gets us more excited for his future for the rest of the 2023 season and his career at Menlo! 

  

Senior Night Success

Before the Dual, 12 Menlo Wrestlers were honored in a Senior Ceremony. Of those seniors, Riley Siason (125), Nick Camacho (141), AB Del Toro (157), and Afton Silvis (197) all got to take the mat for their final home dual as an Oak. Siason opened the night with a dub against Zach Wright by decision (9-7) to get the Oaks an early lead. An exciting match between AB Del Toro and Kyle Botelho ended in a Menlo win by decision (5-2). And Afton Silvis also walked away victorious against Jairo Rivera by decision (3-1) to seal the Oaks win.

Men's Wrestling flies out to Prescott, Arizona to compete in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament on February 17th and 18th. The #1 Oaks are ready to claim their Conference Title!
