Phoenix, AZ- Menlo Tennis has officially taken to the courts in their first competition of the new season at the ITA Regional Tournament held in Phoenix, Arizona. The Oaks sent down a strong rotation of both men's and women's players to compete against some of the top players in the NAIA West Region. Multiple athletes would reach the round of 16 with Menlo reaching the finals match for the women's doubles bracket as well as winning the individual women's bracket.
Valentina Urelli Rinaldi Brings Home the Title
Menlo Women's Tennis is coming off an impressive inaugural season that saw the program ranked among the top 25 in the NAIA all season, an appearance in the GSAC Championship match and two players named to the All-Conference Team. Valentina Urelli Rinaldi has already followed up her All-Conference performance last year with an outstanding performance at the ITA Regional Tournament. Rinaldi would go on to win the tournament singles title as the number one ranked seed. Rinaldi was the leader of the Oaks all last season and has only continued to prove her place among the top players in the NAIA. Across all singles play, five Oaks would qualify for the round of 16 which only further highlights the depth of this roster.
As for the women's doubles the Oaks were also very successful with the duo of Rinaldi and Milana Hrudka reaching the finals match. While they did not win, the pair played great all the way through to the championship match.
Menlo Men's Tennis Has a Strong Showing
Alongside the women's program Menlo Men's Tennis put forth a solid effort as well. Led by returners David Mulas Zelenskaya and Saar Rogovski who made the round of 16 the, the team saw five of six athletes at leach reach the round of 16.

Thanks to their strong play both Urelli Rinaldi and Hrudka will continue advancing through the ranks of the ITA Tournament. With regionals now behind them they will turn their attention to the main tournament which will consists of multiple teams across a variety of college divisions.
