History was made for Menlo Softball this week as Grace Christian was named the PacWest Player of the Week—the first in the program’s DII history! The 5-foot-9 outfielder and first baseman from Modesto, California, was instrumental in Menlo’s weekend sweep over Chaminade University. On Friday, she went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a double, and the go-ahead RBI single. She carried that momentum into Saturday’s doubleheader, going 3-for-7 with five RBIs, two runs, a double, a triple, and the Oaks’ first home run of the season. Her biggest moment came in the final game when, with the bases loaded, she crushed a grand slam to left field, flipping a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 lead and igniting the Menlo dugout. Christian currently leads the Oaks with 21 hits, five doubles, and 15 RBIs, while batting an impressive .429 on the season.
