The freshman phenom made history for the wrestling program by becoming the 125-pound national champion at the NCWA National Tournament. Valencia’s championship run was nothing short of dominant, earning 3 technicalls, 1 pin, and 2 decision victories to take gold. Valencia did not allow a single takedown the entire tournament, displaying his relentless attack and technical prowess, proving he belonged among the nation’s best. Elijah’s performance also helped contribute to the Men’s Wrestling program’s first ever national team title, winning the tournament with 214.5 team points. This incredible accomplishment is just the beginning for Elijah, who has already made a massive impact in his freshman season having been named MPSF All-Conference 1st Team as well. With his hard work and championship mindset, the future is bright for this young standout.
