Providing the decisive hit in a thrilling 16-15 victory for Menlo NCBA Baseball over No. 1 Santa Clara, junior Joseph Salmeron turned in numerous productive at-bats throughout the series. Going 5-for-10 in the three games, Salmeron’s .500 batting average included one double, three runs batted in, three runs scored, one stolen base, and two walks. He drove in a run with a single in just his second trip to the plate during the Apr. 18 doubleheader, brought in the go-ahead run with a double in the sixth inning of game two, and ultimately broke a 15-15 tie with a bases-loaded single that walked the Oaks off winners in the eighth inning against the top team in the country.
