Greg Hagan

Greg Hagen enters his first season as an assistant coach at Menlo after an accomplished competitive career at the national level. He joins the staff under Head Coach Joey Martinez, bringing championship experience and a deep understanding of high-level wrestling to the program.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Hagen graduated from Grand View University in 2025 with a degree in Liberal Arts. During his collegiate career, he established himself as one of the most successful wrestlers in NAIA history. Hagen was a four-time NAIA National Finalist, a four-time Heart of America Conference Champion, and captured the 2023 NAIA National Championship at 285 pounds. That same year, he was named NAIA Wrestler of the Year. Earlier in his career, he earned NAIA Newcomer of the Year honors in 2021.

Before college, Hagen built an impressive résumé at the national and state levels. He was ranked No. 5 nationally in high school, won the 2019 USA Folkstyle National Championship, and finished as the 2018 IHSAA State Runner-Up.

Hagen brings a championship mindset, strong technical background, and firsthand experience at the highest levels of the sport to his role as an assistant coach, where he looks to help develop student-athletes both on and off the mat.
