CARMEL, CA – The top Oak from Menlo Women's Golf finished Monday's first two rounds not only as the team leader but the RCA Electric Invitational leader as freshman
Kim Penzold sits three strokes ahead of the next closest competitor with one day left out at Quail Lodge Golf Resort.
Penzold Pacing The Field
A total of five birdies helped Penzold move up to the top of the leaderboard as she carded a 2-over-par 73 to start then finished the second round even, parring all but four holes. At 2-over-par 144, she will look to hold off Dominican's Cristen Faith Legaspi (5-over-par 147) and the 28 other golfers in the field.
Helping contribute to Menlo's fourth-place standing after the first day, freshman
Ester Otiepkova is 17th at 20-over-par 162 with her three birdies matching those of her teammates, sophomore
Kayla Lancaster (23-over-par 165) in 21st and freshman
Laura Goertzen (25-over-par 167) in 24th, who make up the top four qualifying Oaks.

Menlo will be back out at the Quail Lodge Golf Resort links to close out the RCA Electric Invitational tomorrow starting at 9 a.m.
