ATHERTON, CA – Menlo Athletics is proud to announce the appointment of Greg Hagan as Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach under Head Coach Joey Martinez. Hagen joined the program in September 2025, bringing championship-level experience as one of the most decorated athletes in NAIA wrestling history.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Hagen competed at heavyweight for Grand View University, where he emerged as one of the NAIA's most dominant wrestlers. During his collegiate career, he was a four-time NAIA National Finalist, the 2023 NAIA National Champion and Wrestler of the Year, a four-time Heart of America Conference Champion, and the 2021 NAIA Newcomer of the Year. Hagen also played a key role in helping Grand View secure three NAIA National Team Championships, solidifying his reputation as one of the nation's elite competitors during his time with the Vikings.

Upon graduating from Grand View in 2025 with a degree in Liberal Arts, Hagen transitions from competition to coaching, eager to develop the next generation of student-athletes. His championship pedigree and firsthand knowledge of what it takes to succeed at the highest level will be vital in helping the Oak wrestlers compete in the NCAA.

"Greg brings a championship mindset and proven success at the collegiate level," said Head Coach Joey Martinez. "He knows what it takes to win, and his leadership, work ethic, and passion for the sport will make an immediate impact on our program. We're thrilled to have him be a part of our family."

Menlo looks forward to the energy and expertise Hagen will add to the program as the wrestling team continues to grow its reputation within the highly competitive NCAA Division II landscape.
