In "Built to Win," Coach Thackrey will deliver a proven, systemized approach to developing elite Taekwondo athletes. This isn't theory—it's a performance you can feel. Athletes will learn how to train smarter, recover faster, fuel like a pro, and dominate the mat using battle-tested protocols.
Key Topics Include:
Strength & Conditioning for Taekwondo — building rotational power, reactive speed, and sport-specific strength without unnecessary bulk; proven sprint and agility protocols; joint mobility and injury prevention strategies; and periodization techniques to peak at Nationals, Team Trials, and Worlds.
Sports Nutrition & Weight Class Management — fueling for training versus competition, maintaining weight class without metabolic damage, and executing a precise "Game Day Fuel" plan for maximum performance.
Recovery & Longevity Tactics — optimizing sleep, hydration, and training load; understanding hormonal balance for male and female athletes; and managing joint flare-ups, overuse injuries, and burnout.
Participants should wear athletic clothes (no uniforms required) and may bring a pen and paper for notes. Menlo College will provide all training resources needed, creating a professional and interactive learning environment.
"Athletes will leave this seminar with a complete blueprint for building medal-winning performance," said Coach Tim Thackrey. "These are the same systems I use with Olympians, world champions, and rising junior stars to ensure they train smarter, stay healthy, and peak when it matters most."
The Menlo College Taekwondo Seminar is open to individual athletes, coaches, and teams. Space is limited, and registration is now open.
