OAHU, HAWAII – Menlo College Wrestling alumnus and 2023 NAIA National Champion Rysan Leong continues to add to his decorated resume, recently claiming the amateur welterweight title at the X-1 Battle at the Barracks #9 inside of the Schofield Barracks in his homecoming fight in Hawaii.
 
Leong, one of the most decorated athletes in Menlo Wrestling history, made his main event debut in dominant fashion. In front of a hometown crowd, the Hawaii native wasted no time, finishing his opponent via rear-naked choke in just 37 seconds to remain unbeaten and improving his amateur MMA record to 4-0.
 
Pursuing a dream he's had since childhood, the 2x NAIA All-American's journey to becoming a professional MMA fighter is well underway. With each step forward, Leong proudly represents the Menlo Wrestling program and carries the Oak legacy with him into every fight.
