Menlo’s Obermuller Earns All-PacWest First Team, Fanning Named Freshman of the Year

ATHERTON, CA - Menlo Athletics is proud to announce that women's golf standouts Holly Obermuller and Rori Fanning have earned top postseason honors in the Pacific West (PacWest) Conference for the 2025 season, Obermuller, a senior, was named to the All-PacWest First team while Fanning, a freshman, was selected as the PacWest Freshman of the Year and earned All-PacWest Second Team honors.

Obermuller capped off her collegiate career in style, earning one of only five spots on the All-PacWest First team. The senior from Öhringen, Germany led the PacWest in scoring average at 75.3 strokes per round - the best in the conference, solidifying herself as one of the best golfers in the PacWest. The senior was also named twice as the PacWest Player of the Week during the season. She would claim the individual title at the CLU Regals Invitational and place herself top ten at the PacWest Championship tournament. Her consistent excellence and veteran experience were instrumental in the Oak's success, capping her career off as one of the most accomplished golfers in program history. 


Rori Fanning | All-PacWest Second Team | PacWest Freshman of the Year
Fanning, a true freshman from Valencia, CA, made an immediate impact and was honored as the PacWest Freshman of the Year by votes from the conference's coaches. The freshman would go on to deliver a standout debut season with a 76.2 stroke average, the lowest of any freshman in the PacWest. Fanning would end her rookie campaign with sever high finishes, including runner-up placements at the PCH Fall Invitational and the Vanguard Fall Cup, a fourth-place finish at the CLU Regals Invitational and a top-eight finish at the PacWest Championship Tournament. In addition to earning Freshman of the Year honors, Fanning's performances also earned her a spot on the All-PacWest Second team, making her one of just five golfers conference-wide to receive second team honors.
