Kalila Shrive Qualifies for U23 Pan-Am Championships as Menlo Women’s Wrestling Shines at 2025 USMC Women’s Nationals

SPOKANE, WA – Menlo Women's wrestling delivered standout performances at the 2025 USMC Women's Nationals this past weekend, with nearly the entire team competing in both the U20 and U23 divisions. The Oak's were competing for a spot on the USA World Team, while the U23 division served as another highly competitive national tournament in its own right.

KALILA SHRIVE EARNS SECOND PAN-AMERICAN TRIP
Sophomore Kalila Shrive led the way for Menlo, competing in both the U20 and U23 divisions in an impressive display of endurance and skill. Shrive would end up placing 6th at U20 in the 76kg weight class and then surged to a 2nd place finish at U23. With her placing second at U23, Shrive qualified for Team USA and will represent the United States at the 2025 U23 Pan-American Championships in Queretaro, Mexico from April 10-12. This marks her second consecutive year earning a spot on the Pan-American team, following her championship victory in the U20 division last year.

U20 OAK PLACEMENTS
In the U20 division, the Oak's would come across elite competition fighting to earn a spot on the world team. The Oak's would come out with two wrestlers to reach the podium:
U23 OAK PLACEMENTS
The Oak's were able to make a significant impact in the U23 division by tying wrestling powerhouse, the Hawkeyes of Iowa University for the second-most placers by college with six place winners:
Head Coach Michael Ayala praised the team's performance with a few words:
"I was really proud of the girls for going out there and competing hard. It was nice to be competing with some of the best schools in the nation that also had multiple placers. I think our program is heading in the right direction and I'm proud to be coaching this team."
