Queretaro, Mexico – Sophomore Kalila Shrive represented Team USA at the 2025 U23 Pan-American Championships, marking her second straight year qualifying for the prestigious tournament. After winning gold last year in the U20 division, at 76 kgs, Shrive continued to shine at the international stage by earning a silver medal in the U23 division.  

Shrive's Road to the Finals
Shrive opened up her tournament in dominant fashion, securing a 10-0 technical fall over Venezuela's Victoria Esparragoza in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal bout, Shrive faced a tough challenge against Canada's Vianne Rouleau, where Shrive showcased her grit and composure to grind out a 12-5 victory to punch her ticket to the gold medal match.

In the final, Shrive squared off against Colombia's Maria Ceballos Cuenu in a highly anticipated bout. Unfortunately, Shrive sustained an injury during the match that forced her to withdraw, earning herself a well deserved silver medal to cap off another impressive international run. Despite the minor setback, Shrive once again proved why she is one of the top rising stars nationally and internationally.
