12/5/2025 9:50:00 PM

CRETE, NEBRASKA – Menlo Women's Wrestling sent a young and talented squad to the Midwest for an early season test, competing at the Women's Connor Oppenheim inside the Fhrer Field House. After dominating the West Coast through the first quarter of the season, the Oaks continued to show how lethal their lineup is.

Oaks Highlights
  • 110lb Freshman Mia Navarro would go 2-2 on the day with 2 falls, including a pin over #14 NAIA Nia Avelino of Eastern Oregon
  • Hayden Fry would go 2-2 as well with  her final win coming against NAIA's #19 Taylor Hood of Midland
  • Isabel Navarro battled deep into the consolation bracket, going 3-2 with a momentum swinging pin over #11 NAIA Tess Barnett in under three minutes.
  • Maci Stemmons would pick up 2 falls on the day while also beating the #19 Kaydence Bonewell of Ottawa.

Lancaster Leads the Young Guns
Mikayla Lancaster stole the show for the Oaks, putting together a powerful run to place herself in the semifinals. The sophomore would open her day with a major test against #6 NAIA Aspen Barber of Doane at 160lbs. Lancaster rose the challenge, scoring 10 points in the match before sealing the victory with a pin in under five minutes to start her day.

Riding the momentum, she secured another fall in just over a minute into the first period, then gutted out a gritty 6-4 decision in the quarters to punch herself in the semis. Lancaster ultimately dropped her final two bouts of the night, but her strong front-side surge earned her a top-6 finish and highlighted her growing impact within the young Oaks roster. With a lineup made up of mainly underclassmen, the Oaks' performances displayed tremendous potential within this young group.
