Menlo NCWA Men's Wrestling Drops Dual Against San Francisco State

11/12/2025 9:31:00 PM

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – In already a busy month for the Menlo NCWA Men's Wrestling program, the Oaks took on the Gators of San Francisco in State in the Don Nasser Family Plaza, falling 12-42.

Dual Recap
Starting the Oaks lineup off was none other Daniel Arrellano at 125lbs who has been phenomenal so far this season. Arrellano was able to put his opponent on his back during a scramble situation to earn a pin to give the Oaks six points to start the dual off. Arrellano has now won every single dual he has competed in this season.

However, the Gators responded back and took control of the entire dual, not giving the Oaks any breathing room after the first match of the dual. San Francisco St was able to take the next eight weight classes with two pins, two tech falls, and a forfeit to make the team score 6-37.

Veteran Matthew Porras Diamond would put the Gators run to a hiatus, dominating his opponent to earn the Oaks second pin of the night. Despite stopping San Francisco State's run, the Oaks were unable to close out the night on top at heavyweight, giving up another tech fall to end the dual 12-42 with the Gators winning the dual.

Up Next…
The Oaks will look to stay local, heading to San Jose State to wrestle at the Battle at Sparta tournament on Sunday, November 16.
