Dustin Johnston joins the Menlo College men's basketball staff in 2015-16 as the lead Assistant Coach for the Oaks.
Coach Johnston will help advance the Menlo program in all phases. He will coordinate recruiting, student athlete development, opponent scouting, fundraising, and travel.
"Dustin is a fantastic coach and a tremendous role model for our student athletes," Says Menlo Head Coach Kaniela Aiona. "He brings in excellent coaching experience at the high school and college levels and has shown a special ability to connect with recruits and families."
Johnston comes to Menlo from Saint Leo University in Florida where he was an Assistant Coach for the 2014-15 season. Coach Johnston was integral in the Lions success as he assisted in practice planning, scouting, recruiting, video, travel and all other aspects of the Lions program.
Prior to his time at Saint Leo, Coach "DJ" coached at his Alma Mater, Trinity International in Deerfield, IL. There he served in all capacities as assistant coach and also as head junior varsity coach for the 2013-14 season.
Coach Johnston has a strong background in video having served as video coordinator at Saint Leo and also as video analyst with Krossover Intelligence, a renowned basketball video analysis company.
Johnston began his coaching career at the prep level as a coach at St. Croix Preperatory Academy in Stillwater, MN and Riverdale High School in Muscoda, WI.

The 2010 graduate of Trinity International holds a degree in sports and wellness management. Johnston also holds a masters degree in leadership from TIU.
