SEASIDE, CA – In a game that saw neither side lead by more than five for virtually the entire first half, Menlo Men's Basketball returned for its second day of Cal State Monterey Bay's Otter Classic on Saturday, but could not initiate a second half comeback against Western Oregon who walked away 76-57 winners.

Efficient from the outset, the Oaks converted their first five shot attempts with four different players getting into the scoring column. Senior forward
Nick High had two baskets yet Western Oregon was right there with Menlo and, despite a 3-pointer from junior guard
Devon Woods, an Otter Classic All-Tournament Team honoree,, as well as back-to-back scores by sophomore guard
Quentin Thompson, the largest margin the Oaks held was five points. The end of the half was a strong one for the Wolves who went on an 8-0 run before High's three-point play conversion to settle the score at 43-40 in favor of WOU heading to the break.
A 7-0 Western Oregon burst early in the second period was met with a huge dunk by Thompson and a triple by sophomore guard
Jonathan Moxie shortly thereafter. However, an 11-1 push by the Wolves in the later stages of the contest allowed them to force the eventual 76-57 victory.
